Template:Football club infobox Sevilla Fútbol Club is the most successful football club from Seville, Spain. It was established the 14th of October of 1905, making it the oldest football club from Seville, and second oldest from Andalucia. The club will celebrate its 100th anniversary this coming season.

Sevilla FC's stadium is named Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán and has a spectator capacity of 45,500. Sevilla's excellent performance in the last few seasons has aided the increase in the number of season ticket holders, having been necessary to create a waiting list.

History

Sevilla FC has also a long tradition of European football, being the first andalucian club to play the European Cup (now known as the UEFA Champions League in the 1957-58 season. Sevilla has also played the Cup Winners Cup twice, and will be playing the UEFA Cup for the 8th time in their history this coming 2005-06 season.

The team wears white, with some red details, for home games and red, with white bits, for away games. Fans of the team are nicknamed sevillistas. The Biris (after Gambian player Biri-Biri, who played for Sevilla in the 1970's) are the best known fans group.

Sevilla is well known not just as a football club, but as a well-structured sports society. It is owned by the fans, with the stock distributed across a few major holders and a large base of fans. The club supports one of the best training academies in the country, which have produced excellent players in past and recent times. Sevilla FC is also a modern club, promoting innovations such as a school of sports psychologists, who provide support for the younger as well as the professional players, and also more recently sports nutrition and medicine. Another great recent success of Sevilla FC has been the establishment of its own radio station, Sevilla FC Radio, the first of its kind in Spain, which in a very short time has achieved the greatest sports audience in the city of Sevilla, beating all the other local and national radio stations.

Sevilla FC will celebrate this season its 100th anniversary. Many sports and cultural activities are organized in celebrations that will be joined by thousands of football fans across the world.

Trophies

Before the Spanish national competitions started, it also won 17 Andalucian Championships and was crowned twice as Champions of Sevilla.
