Find the derivative of f(x)\, with respect to x\,: f(x)=\sin ^{4}x\,

This problem is a chain rule problem. Our outside function is a power function because \sin x\, is raised to the fourth power. Our inside function is \sin x\,.

f'(x)=4\sin ^{3}(x)\cos(x)\,
