Find the value of x,if the slope of the line joining (2,5),(x,3)\, is 2.

The slope of the line is

\frac{3-5}{x-2}\,

Given the slope is 2,

Now

\frac{-2}{x-2}=2\,

Simplifying

-2=2x-4\,

2x=2\,


Hence the value of x=1.
