Find the slope of the straight line joining (-3,8),(10,5)\,

Slope of the line joining (x_1,y_1),(x_2,y_2)\, is

\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\,

Hence

\frac{5-8}{10+3}\,

\frac{-3}{13}\,

Now the slope is -3/13.
