Find the slope of the straight line joining (-3,8),(10,5)\,

Slope of the line joining (x_{1},y_{1}),(x_{2},y_{2})\, is

{\frac {y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}}\,

Hence

{\frac {5-8}{10+3}}\,

{\frac {-3}{13}}\,

Now the slope is -3/13.
