Find the equation of the straight line passing through the point (2,3)\, and making intercepts whose sum is zero.

Let the intercepts made by the straight line be

a,-a\,

The equation of the straight line is

{\frac {x}{a}}-{\frac {y}{a}}=1\,

x-y=a\,

This line passes through

(2,-3)\,

Now susbstituting the coordinate in the above equation,

2-3=a,a=-1\,

Hence the eqaution of the straight line is

x-y+1=0\,
