Find the equation of the straight line passing through (4,-3)\, and parallel tothe line joining (6,3),(-4,5)\,.

The slope of the line is

\frac{5-3}{-4-6}=\frac{1}{5}\,

Now the slope of the required line is \frac{1}{5}\,

The condition for two parallel lines is that their slopes are equal.

Hence the equation of the required line is

y+3=\frac{1}{5}(x-4)\,

5y+15=x-4\,

x-5y-19=0\,
