Find the equation of the straight line passing through (4,-3)\, and perpendicular to the line joining (1,1),(2,3)\,.

The slope the line joining (1,1) and (2,3) is

\frac{3-1}{2-1}=2\,

Slope of the require line is -1/2 Now the equation is

y-(-3)=\frac{-1}{2}(x-4)\,

2y+6=-x+4\,

2y-x+2=0\,
