Find the derivative of f(x)\, with respect to x\,: f(x)=\sin (\cos (\tan x))\,

Again, we have a chain rule inside of a chain rule.

f'(x)=\cos (\cos (\tan x))\frac{d}{dx}\cos (\tan x)\,

f'(x)=\cos (\cos (\tan x))(-\sin (\tan x))\frac{d}{dx}\tan x\,

f'(x)=\cos (\cos (\tan x))(-\sin (\tan x))(\sec^2x)\,
