Simplify $(ix+iy)(ix-iy)\,$

The expression is in the form of $(a+b)(a-b)\,$ whose value is $a^2-b^2\,$ Hence applying the same to the given, $(ix)^{2}-(iy)^{2}\,$

$(i^{2})((x)^{2})-(i^{2})((y)^{2})\,$

The value of $i^2=-1\,$ , hence substituting the value $(-1)((x)^{2})-(-1)((y)^{2})\,$

$-(x)^{2}+(y)^{2}\,$

Rearranging $(y)^{2}-(x)^{2}\,$

Further simplifying $(y+x)(y-x)\,$
