First, notice that $x\ne-2\,$ .

Second, multiply each side by $x+2\,$ .

$7=\frac{3(x+2)}{2}\,$

Next, multiply each side by $2\,$ .

$14=3(x+2)\,$

Expand the right hand side.

$14=3x+6\,$

Subtract $6\,$ from both sides.

$8=3x\,$

Finally, divide both sides by $3\,$ .

$x=\frac{8}{3}\,$
